Our Bhutan representative will meet you at Paro airport, and after completion of arrival formalities you will be transferred to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu, an exciting blend of tradition and modernity. After lunch, full day sightseeing of Thimphu visiting National Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage, National Library, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Institute of Zorig Chusum, Tashicho Dzong.

After breakfast, head towards Punakha Valley over the high mountain pass of Dochu La 3,050m mountain pass where on a clear day; towering Himalayan peaks are clearly visible. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Afternoon, visit the impressive Punakha Dzong, the Dzong built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to serve as the religious and administrative center of the region. In the evening, stroll around the town area.

After breakfast, drive back to Paro en route visiting a traditional farmhouse for an opportunity to interact with a local family and learn something of their lifestyle. On arrival check-in at the Hotel. Afternoon, drive towards the north end of the valley to view the Ta Dzong (Closed on Sun/Mon/Govt. Holidays) formerly a watchtower and now the National Museum.

This most famous of Bhutan’s monasteries is perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the Paro valley floor. It is said the Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress, and meditated at this place, hence the monastery is also called “Tiger’s Nest”.

Transfer to the airport to board your flight to onward destination.
